On this year’s Veteran’s Day, Advocate Capital Inc. would like to honor veterans and their families for their service. Originally named “Armistice Day,” the Day commemorates the temporary Cease-Fire in 1918. The cease-fire was on the 11th hour of the 11th Day of the 11th month.
Veteran’s Day has always held a special place in my heart. My Grandfather, Dr. Charles W. Harms, served in WWI as a 1st Lieutenant with the Marines. He was 29 when drafted while finishing his residency at Omaha Wesleyan Hospital. He was stationed in France working on a triage hospital train when he was exposed to mustard gas and discharged after suffering from shell shock, now known as PTSD, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Join us in honoring those who served and those currently serving in the armed forces.
Our Veterans give so much of themselves, physically and mentally; we owe them a debt of gratitude for fighting for democracy here and abroad.
