We recently told you how essential client testimonials are to the success of growing your law firm. Not only do they build trust among existing clients, but they validate your abilities to prospective clients and demonstrate why choosing your firm is the right choice. Last month, Advocate Capital, Inc. collected its 101st unpaid testimonial, a milestone our team is extremely proud to achieve; however, it was not our only notable accomplishment last month.
On September 9th, Advocate Capital, Inc. received its 170th client referral. Our team had originally aimed to reach this goal by December 31st, but thanks to all of the help from our clients, vendors, friends and employees, we were ahead of schedule. Since then, we have far exceeded the 170 and are currently following up on nearly 200 referrals from clients! Because of this, we will be able to assist more law firms in their fight against injustice and protecting our seventh amendment rights.
Advocate Capital also celebrated this victory by holding a special event at our Nashville office. Employees were offered curbside service from the MaggieMoo’s ice cream truck. However, it was President and CEO Michael J. Swanson who received a “special treat” when he got dumped with a bucket of cold water in the middle of thanking the team for surpassing our 2016 referral goal.

Client testimonials and client referrals are both powerful tools for business development. Tom Kane of the Legal Marketing Blog says for lawyers, 70-90% of new business comes from referrals, whether it’s from clients, former clients, or other contacts in your network. Kane says like testimonials, referrals act as instant credibility, showing that a person is willing to put their reputation on the line to endorse your legal abilities. Advocate Capital, Inc. values our relationships with our customers, and we are pleased to know through these referrals and real life testimonials that they feel the same.
