According to Public Justice, the Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected the district court's dismissal of a workplace safety case filed by Amazon workers in 2020. The workers will now be able to move forward with their case which will hopefully hold Amazon accountable for the way they treat their workers.
Public Justice, Make the Road New York, Terrell Marshall Law Group, and Towards Justice are representing Amazon workers in this case and helping them fight for their right to feel safe at work.
The plaintiffs' legal team said, "Since we filed this suit two years ago, Amazon workers continue to face threats to their health and safety – from the COVID-19 pandemic to fires to large-scale natural disasters to brutal work quotas. Despite these dangers, Amazon continues to operate its business as usual, placing profit over people’s lives."
