Congratulations to our friend and client Gary Gwilliam of Gwilliam, Ivary, Chiosso, Cavalli & Brewer, PC, on 60 years of advocating for justice on behalf of his clients!
Gary got his start working as a prosecutor and chief trial deputy in Ventura County for four years. Upon completing his work in Ventura County, Gary moved to Oakland and worked at a civil litigation firm for over a decade, becoming a partner along the way. After 12 years at the Oakland firm, Gary embarked on opening his practice, Gwilliam, Ivary, Chiosso, Cavalli & Brewer, PC.
Gary has taken on countless cases and had over 180 jury trials. Gary’s most prominent case achievements include a $5 million settlement for six female whistleblower victims and a $37 million settlement for wrongful termination of 129 individual clients. You can read about the whistleblower case here and the wrongful termination case here.
Gary considers one of his most significant personal achievements to be his journey to sobriety and becoming a family man. He is passionate about helping other attorneys battling addiction. He continues to conduct seminars with his book, “Getting a Winning Verdict in My Personal Life: A Trial Lawyer Finds His Soul.”
At 83, Gary continues to seek justice for his clients as fervently as ever. Gary says this about continuing to advocate for his clients; “as long as I can stand up and walk through this firm, I’ll keep fighting for things I believe in.”
Gary has no plans to slow down anytime soon and continues to love what he does. Congratulations from Advocate Capital, Inc. on sixty terrific years, Gary!
