Bad news if you were planning to get your clients a Yankee Candle for Christmas this year. The company has voluntarily recalled one of its popular products, the Luminous Candle collection. According to a recent article on NBCNews.com, Yankee Candle received 16 different reports of the glass jars breaking once lit, putting candle lovers at risk of getting cut.
Yankee Candle President and CEO Hope Margala released a statement on the company website in light of the issue: “Out of an abundance of caution and a firm commitment to safety, we have decided to request the immediate return of all Luminous Collection candles.”
The recall includes nearly 31,000 of the Luminous Candles sold from September to November 2016. Scents such as “Sea Salt & Coral,” “Cinnamon & Cedar,” “Pine & Sandlewood” are just some of the ones being affected. To see the full list of products, click here.
If you have already purchased one of the potentially hazardous candles, don’t wrap it up just yet. Yankee Candle is offering full refunds, and a free candle, to all consumers affected.
So far, no injuries have been reported.
