Displaying your reviews and written testimonials helps build your firm’s reputation, visibility, and trust with potential clients online. In a recent article, National Law Review provided a few suggested methods of getting more 5-star reviews.
Make it part of your procedures
The best time to reach out for a review is before the client's relationship ends. Assuming it was a positive experience, be sure to send an e-mail thanking them for the opportunity and inviting them to write a review about their experience.
National Law Review provides an example of what to write below:
“Thank you so much for working with my law firm for your [ type ] case. It has been a pleasure to represent you and land you the results you deserve. If you have enjoyed working with our firm, please consider leaving a review on Google, Facebook, or Yelp. We would really appreciate it!”
Make it easy
With the e-mail you send, make sure links are provided to the client that will take them to the places where they can provide their feedback. These links should include options for Google, Yelp, and Facebook for them to choose from.
Below are some more alternative review platforms you can utilize:
- Avvo
- Google Business Profile
- Lawyers.com
- FindLaw
- LegalMatch
- Martindale-Hubbell
- NOLO
- Bing Places for Business
- Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Case studies
To publish comments about a successful case on your website, you should reach out to past clients and ask for their comments and testimonials to include as part of your case study.
Website review page
If you don’t already, heavily consider adding a reviews page to your website where you display client testimonials. Be creative and add a video if you have the budget for one and request past clients to appear and share their verbal feedback.
Host an appreciation event for clients
An event is an effective way to exchange appreciation by exchanging thoughtful gifts, food, and activities while reconnecting with past clients. During the event, you can ask clients for review feedback, and after, send an email thanking them for attending with the option to leave testimonials in the email.
