Class action lawsuits are being filed against Family Dollar for the rat infestation at their West Memphis distribution center that led to the recall of contaminated products and the temporary closure of over 400 stores across six states, according to Brandon Richards of Action News 5.
A Memphis attorney pursuing a class action, Luke Sanderson, pointed out that people often depend on Family Dollar stores, particularly in food deserts where other options are lacking. Sanderson was quoted by Action News 5, "We think there’s a general level of disrespect that’s been shown by Family Dollar to certain people in our in our community.”
