The Advocate Capital, Inc. Employee Spotlight Award recognizes team members who personify our Company Core Values: Professionalism, Integrity, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork, and Service. Our 2021 Q-2 winner is Terrance Winchester.
Terrance Winchester, Controller in our Accounting department, is fastly approaching his fifth anniversary. He joined Advocate Capital on August 29, 2016.
Our employees live by our core values of professionalism, integrity, continuous improvement, teamwork, and service. Terrance excels at all five core values, but his super-power is continuous improvement.
Below are two requirements of continuous improvement, and one each from teamwork and service. Terrance demonstrates all of these attributes daily.
- Process – Make changes in quality and process that enhance workflow and eliminate redundant steps
- Creativity - Never accept the ‘status quo’
- Look beyond the “procedures” or what is minimally required in respective roles to see a larger opportunity to strategically contribute toward our company mission.
- Deliver a “Wow” experience by providing helpful, humble service both to our clients and to each other.
With support from Shirley Johnson, Terrance deployed an internal quality check process for the Accounting department that later became a full-time role. Accounting accurately processed 99.911% of all transactions in 2020.
Terrance built a rolling financial forecast in 2020, accurately predicting our yearend profit, used Paul Myers’ budget model to create the 2021 financial budget, and recently prepared the three-year strategic forecast for Advocate Capital.
Since 2017, Terrance has submitted 13 suggestion box ideas for process improvement.
Terrance spent four (4) hours with a former client reconciling the client’s cases between AdvoTrac and the client’s case expense software.
Thank you, Terrance, for all the contributions you make for Advocate Capital and its clients
