Advocate Capital Inc. supports Plaintiff law firms and the valuable service they provide their communities. During this unprecedented time, there are even more communities and people in need. Our friend and client, Galen Hair of Scott, Vicknair, Hair & Checki, LLC, has taken on the challenge of supporting small businesses in his community in a unique way.
Like most of us, Galen’s morning routine has changed. Before the virus, Galen would stop by the local coffee shop for a quick snack before going into the office. Even under the social distancing guidelines, Galen was visiting the coffee shop as often as he could, knowing the coffee shop needed all the business they could get to keep the doors open. During one of his visits, he noticed an individual placing a large order for the local VA hospital staff.
Galen realized he could help not only the coffee shop but also the hospital. Galen decided to take over the daily order for the VA hospital’s coffee. With a guaranteed order every week, the coffee shop could stay in business, and the hospital staff would have coffee. Galen has since expanded the daily orders to include another hospital’s ICU and ER units.
Galen is using another coffee shop for these orders with hopes to help another small business. He asked to deliver the first order to the hospital personally. The head ICU nurse came out to meet them with a cart marked “clean.” As Galen set the coffee down on the cart, the nurse thanked him and started to cry. She said, “No one understands what it is like, and this has been such a hard time on the staff and the patients. your kindness has given the nurses and doctors a little bright spot in their day.”
Galen plans to continue paying for the coffee for the hospitals. He wants to keep helping small businesses and the hospitals staff as long as needed.
Advocate Capital is proud to support Galen and all of those who go the extra mile to help someone in their community. Do you have a story to share? Or do you know of someone helping their community? Contact your account manager and let them know. We would love to share your story too.
