Attorney John Hinman of Hinman Law Group, won a jury verdict on behalf of his client for $500,000.
Mr. Hinman’s clients were driving to Costco for lunch in San Bernardino, CA. On the way to Costco, the client and her grandson were rear-ended while they were stopped.
Mr. Hinman’s client suffered an aggravation of a pre-existing degenerative condition in her left knee including osteoarthritis and meniscal tears. She went to therapy and had injections on her knee, but was still advised she needed surgery.
Mr. Hinman’s client required arthroscopic knee surgery. At the time of trial she had been advised to undergo a knee replacement surgery.
The case was taken to trial and heavily disputed by the defense and insurance carrier Allstate. The company offered to settle, but for an amount that would not cover any of Mr. Hinman’s client’s past medical bills.
Ultimately the jury’s verdict of $500,000 for Mr. Hinman’s client was far more than 10 times the best offer by the defense and five times the policy limits of the defendant.
