Lance Cooper, founding member of The Cooper Firm, in Marietta, Georgia and his 17 year old son Asa are leaving soon for Africa, specifically Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The father & son duo are teaming with the Orphan Aid Liberia group in Cartersville, Georgia to raise money for the 300,000+ children who were orphaned in Liberia following the civil war that ended in 2003 and now live in extreme poverty.
The Coopers will spend about ten (10) days making the hike up and down the mountain. Lance and Asa plan on sending updates through social networking and emails during the journey to keep their friends and supporters apprised of their progress. Lance and his son are covering all their own travel expenses so that all the money raised will benefit the orphans for necessities such as food, medical care, education, etc. Their goal is to raise $100,000 and anyone may contribute online via the organization’s website, https://orphanaidliberia.com/.
