Mike recently hosted Matthew Wright, Partner of The Law Firm for Truck Safety, Terry Jackson of Terry D. Jackson: Georgia Truck Accident Lawyers, and Michael Cowen, Founding Partner of Cowen Rodriguez Peacock, for a live webinar, Let's Talk Trucking Litigation.
In this webinar, Attorneys Wright, Jackson, and Cowen explain critical steps that they take when prosecuting a trucking accident case. They detail steps such as collecting phone records and getting as much information as possible from the scene. They discuss what makes trucking cases different from car accident cases. They also talk about why a general personal injury lawyer, or even a newer trucking lawyer, would want to bring in an experienced trucking accident lawyer to their case and how it would benefit them and their client.
Matthew Wright: Having begun his legal career representing mega-insurance companies, Matt quickly realized many of these companies cared little about people, even if those people had suffered catastrophic, life-altering losses. Matt decided to represent ordinary people instead of large companies, as a truck accident lawyer. Matt hopes that he has brought positive change to the lives of those clients and will continue to affect positive change, making the world a safer and more livable place. Matt has many years of legal experience and currently serves as the American Association for Justice Trucking Litigation Group Executive Officer/Treasurer.
Terry D. Jackson is an accomplished Georgia trial lawyer who has devoted his career to helping seriously injured victims and families secure justice. With more than 20 years of legal experience, Terry has handled a wide range of cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death, including those resulting from serious truck and auto collisions. He has helped numerous clients put their lives back together following tragedies – and his record of success includes over 100 trials in state and federal court, more than $100 million in compensation recovered on behalf of clients, and some of the largest verdicts in the state.
Michael Cowen has been practicing law for 25 years and is devoted to passing on his years of experience and lessons learned along the way, to his peers in the legal community. As a seasoned trial lawyer Michael has experience handling over 100 trials. Whether it is a CLE course hosted by TTLA, AAJ, AIEG, or a CLE event hosted by Cowen | Rodriguez | Peacock, Michael takes pride in continuing to give his time to not only his clients but his colleagues as well. He also welcomes the opportunity to work on cases with fellow attorneys, especially in trucking, oil field accidents, and product liability matters.
