Attorney Scott Carlile of the Carlile Law Firm, LLP recently talked with CEO and Chairman, Michael J. Swanson, about a case that made a difference. Attorney Carlile tried a case that involved emergency 911 calls and led to important changes to the laws about those calls.
In 2013, a woman was stabbed to death by her estranged husband in a hotel with their children in the next room. During the attack, the 9-year-old daughter of the victim attempted to dial 911 to get help. The child was not aware that you had to press 9 before dialing 911 because they were in a hotel.
