The Advocate Capital team joined Public Justice for their Annual Gala & Awards, held on July 22, 2024, in Nashville, TN, at the Four Seasons. During this wonderful Gala event, the Trial Lawyer of the Year award is presented.
Per the group’s website, “Every year, this award is presented to the attorney(s) who made the greatest contribution to the public interest within the past year by trying or settling a precedent-setting, socially significant case.” You can check out this year’s winners and their story here. Another wonderful change coming to Public Justice this year is the announcement of the new CEO, Sharon McGowan. We were lucky enough to chat with Sharon for a few minutes and get her in our team photo. She is so excited to take on this new role with the Public Justice organization.
We heard remarks from Public Justice President Preston Tisdale, Incoming President Janet Varnell, and the 2024 Champion of Justice Honorees, the Tennessee Three: Gloria Anderson (in person), Justin Pearson (via Zoom), and Justin Jones.
It was a great night to celebrate justice and to discuss the continued fight for all Seventh Amendment advocates. The Advocate Capital team had a wonderful time hearing from all of the champions for justice and learning more about Public Justice’s mission.
