One of the best ways to build relationships with other attorneys and legal professionals is to attend conferences and other networking events. Each year plan to attend the conferences for the trial lawyer associations you are a part of and pay attention to other smaller local legal events you can attend to network. This is a great way to maintain your current referral relationships and cultivate new ones through networking.
Marrone suggests that reconnecting with former classmates and colleagues can be a great way to build referral networks. Email, call, text, or reach out on Linkedin and ask how they're doing and consider inviting them for lunch or coffee to catch up.
