This client, represented by Ron Netemeyer and Jill Harper, was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident in 2013. The plaintiff was a passenger in an automobile driven by her daughter travelling approximately 70 mph when the defendant driver failed to merge properly, striking the daughter’s car. The plaintiff was pinned under the car’s dashboard requiring extraction by the EMS. The plaintiff was lifeflighted to the hospital where her severe injuries were graded 10 out of 10. She sustained several burst fractures, including fractures of her sternum, tibias, fibulas, femur, elbow, wrist, neck, feet, ulna, hip and ribs. Her injuries required multiple surgeries, skin and bone grafts, and ultimately the amputation of her right leg below the knee. The plaintiff would spend close to a year in the hospital and skilled nursing center recovering from the injuries sustained in the accident.
