As the new year approaches, lawyers are beginning to think about what they would like to achieve through next year’s marketing. Simply writing down your ideas and steps can help enhance the likelihood of achieving your goals, and Attorney at Work has helped provide some significant input for you to be sure to include.
Simplify the Steps. Develop a plan that is manageable in small steps:
Set Long-term Goals:
Start by envisioning a long-term end goal for your firm, such as being the top law firm in your city or state. These goals are very aspirational and will most likely not be achieved in a year, but knowing them will help break down more reachable objectives in getting there.
Define Short-term goals:
Now we want to set up short-term objectives that will eventually help us reach our end goal over time. Objectives are measurable and can be obtained within a year. This could include engaging with committees and being active in your community.
Make a Game Plan:
Plan and research where you want your firm's energy and time to be invested in and what partnerships or new services would best fit the firm. Have an idea of you want to execute your new objectives. Remember to measure the progress of your objectives and be flexible for any new opportunities.
Once you have this outline established, create a calendar reminder for yourself to look back at your goals at least once a month. Your planning process and commitment will be the key to your success.
