Law firm directories such as Avvo, Super Lawyer, FindLaw, Lawrina, and Martindale, are great tools for consumers to find a law firm that's right for them without spending hours searching through numerous websites and google listings.
For law firms, these services are valuable as a way to market your firm and expand your audience, but how do you set yourself apart from all of the other law firms in the crowd? Lawrina offered some tips on how to craft a profile that stands out in a recent blog.
Showcase your expertise
In your description, make sure to include information that displays your experience like how long you've been in practice and notable achievements like awards and big verdicts and settlements. If you have any niche practice areas like motorcycle accidents, birth injury cases, or electrocution premise liablity cases, feature those prominently on your profile. This will show people who are browsing the directory what your expertise is and why they should choose you.
Lawrina states, "The legal industry is one where prestige is a critical factor, and research has shown that clients will gravitate toward lawyers that shout about how many years of success they have in their respective industries and highlight all the exciting cases they have been a part of."
Communicate your mission and values
People want to work with people, so show potenital clients who you are and what your stand for. Lawrina explains that the legal industry and lawyers often get a bad rap for being boring and uncaring, however, that is only a misconception so it is important to show potential clients that you care. You can do this by sharing why you became an attorney and what your goals are when working with your clients.
