The non-profit, American Lawyers Public Image Association (ALPIA), created this day in 2001 to remind others of the great things lawyers do in their communities and for their clients. It is a day to celebrate lawyers defending the defenseless, their volunteer efforts, and the passion they have for their work. The ALPIA encourages others to spend today shifting the focus from “bad lawyer” jokes to the positivity that this profession brings to our world.
